Glucosamine success stories?!

Question: I am going to try glucosamine to help treat arthritis. It has been recommended to me by a few people. Any success, or failure stories would be greatly appreciated.

Glucosamine is one of the basic material the body needs to grow cartilage. Healthy joints have an adequate amount of cartilage to prevent the bones from rubbing against each other.

As a person age (or sometimes due to illness) the body produces insufficient glucosamine to maintain healthy joints, resulting in arthritis. Arthritis caused in this manner should respond well to an intake of glucosamine. However, there are other causes of arthritis and these may respond less well to glucosamine treatment.

In recent years, a new cream has been developed to take glucosamine through the skin into the body (joint). This method is more efficient than oral glucosamine since it bypasses the digestive system which destroy a significant amount of the glucosamine taken. For more details of how the cream works better visit www.lynkbiotech.com to read more about the science. Their TGC contains 10% glucosamine and there are thousands of users just in Singapore.

I think glucosamine may be one of those supplements our *favorite* skeptic may be right about.
You can try a bottle, buy a quality brand, but if there is no improvement by a month it was probably a waste of money.
I like hylaronic acid better.

Glucosamine takes a long to take effect and it varies per person and how extensive the damage is. For most people, it takes 1-2 months to notice a difference. For some, even as long as 3-4 months. And others, may notice as short as 2 weeks. So, give it try for at least 3 months.

I run a health food shop and it's one of our biggest sellers.
I prefer Glucosamine sulphate in a powder form with Chondrointon and MSM.

The reccommended daily dosage is about 1250-1500 mg per day. However you can go up to 3000mg a day quite safetly for a month if youre arthritis is severe.

Whatever dose you start on( 1500 mg is a good starting point), do it for 1 month to see how it has worked. If you feel better lower the dose slightly, if you dont feel better raise the dose. However dont go over the 3000mg unless advised by a naturopath or doctor.

The only time I dont see glucosamine working is if people are not taking the right dose. Otherwise it helps alot. We have given it to our 14 year old dog who was riddled with arthritis and noticed a huge improvement, she was hopping around like a pup again.

Fish oils are great also and work really well with glucosamine. Take maximim dose on packet for arthritis.

Good Luck!

There is a user review site for health products for people to post their experiences on. The site doesn't sell any products, so hopefully the reviews aren't biased. Go to NutritionalTree.com and search for glucosamine and it will probably turn up some results for you.
