If the oil has spoiled, which can happen, it can cause digestive upset. I've not heard of it causing constipation though.
Fish oil is one of those "you get what you pay for" products. Inferior oils can often be tainted with a % of spoiled contaminant. You need to properly store quality oil and pay attention to the shelf-life.
On the plus side, the digestive upset from tainted oil goes away fairly quickly after you discontinue using it.
I've heard that flax seed oil is much better than fish oils... maybe trying something else might help...
