Chamomile Tea?!

Question: Does anyone know if this contains salicylates and if so is it high, medium or low?

Also if there are any herbal teas that do not contain salicylates?

Thank you

Reason for asking, I am having a stressful time and also allergic to salicylates [aspirin] and wanted to be safe.

I have got a prescription for a drug to calm me down but did wonder about herbal teas

German Chamomile is used medicinally against sore stomach, irritable bowel syndrome, and as a gentle sleep aid.

Active Chemical Components: sesquiterpene lactones, volatile oil (chamazulene), coumarins, glycosides.

Well, I'm currently using Tetley 'Camomile smile' teabags, and having just checked on the container, it just says;
Ingredients are just; Camomile!

I have actually found them quite good! don't expect immediate results, but you will soon start to notice the benefits. I find them particularly good about an hour before bed....really helps me to have a relaxed nights sleep.

Pretty sure it doesn't....Chamomile is one of the safest herbs to use...it is often recommended for babies..also Lemon balm tea is good for stress....good luck

No they dont add aspirin to herbal tea .

I can't say for all brands, but I have never it listed on any of my chamomile tea, just pure organic chamomile flowers - Stash is the brand I buy typically. If you want to be sure, go to the health food store and buy loose leaf tea - many sell it in a bulk tea section where you dip out of the jar. Get a tea ball and some cheese cloth if you don't like tea debris.

Chamomile is a good choice for calming. It tastes good too.

Peter Rabbit's mother gave it to him......

....more to the point, Beatrix Potter was a knowledgible botanist
