Does chiropractors really work on misaligned back issues?!

Question: I was just told that my c-spine is out of alignement and will be needing aggressive therapy. I have been having sever neck pains prior and have a bit of doubt that the chiropractor may not be the complete ticket.

Yes but you have to keep going to them, maybe for the rest of your life. Nueromuscular therapy is a better option. It is a form of massage that is not the relaxing/spa experience. Instead it fixes problems with your body, can be uncomfortable or even painful when you are on the table, but ultimately it relieves your pain. You may need repeated visits, but eventually you will be fixed.

Also consider yoga. Continued practice will realign everything in your body & decompress your spine. Its all about the spine, really!

Yes. See a chiropractor and they can explain the procedure. Check wiht your insurance to see if it is covered, first.

Misaligned is more of a misnomer these days. What we do is conservative treatments for neuromusculoskeletal syndromes. When a chiropractor treats these, we usually perform a manipulation and should be doing soft soft tissue therapy and rehab exercises. Could you be specific on the "aggressive" therapy? It shouldn't take more than a couple weeks.

Edit: That's not really aggressive. Some DC's still give plans for six months, sometimes a year. That is ridiculous. If you DC is only saying three weeks and you are done, he is likely a good, ethical doc. I still would ask about rehab exercises though.

I've been seeing a Chiropractor a homeopathic person, as well. She gives me stuff to help the muscles change in my back. She said a chiro can straighten it, but the muscles will just put it back where it was. My chiro never even took xrays, so I haven't been there in over a month.

Chiropractic is a very good way to treat what you have described. You will want massage therapy also to treat the muscles when the chiropractor gets done.
