I am a chiropractor. Every CA in my office starts at 10.50/hr, with bonuses and a raise every 6-12 months depending upon performance. (in Mississippi with no previous experience in chiropractic)
You should check out the yahoo group 'Chiropractic Assistants'. They could give you more specific answers, though I think the average is somewhere between 12 and 15/hr.

A few years ago I worked in the field in California as a tech and the pay was atrocious @ $8.50 an hour, with no benefits. I LOVED the work, tho!! As a single mom, we barely scraped by and my teen daughter was making more working for a fast food place.
Chiropractors are notoriously cheapo as bosses, so choose wisely !!
