I think she should continue taking the vitamins. Our food supply is depleted from nutrients and I've heard vitamins such as vit E are good for preventing loss of memory. B12 is good if you don't eat enough meat which many older people don't eat enough of. How could she go wrong? A multi-vitamin only has a little bit of everything which might be ok for the average person who eats a lot. Older people eat less so if your grandma can afford to purchase and take separate vitamins that's even better for her. Go Grandma! My chiropractor said while she was in med school she would take a lot of b12 because it helped with her brain function and she'd take at least 12/day especially before exams. An older person whose brain is deteriorating can only benefit so much more from it.

no they are for totally diffrent things.vit e is for the skin condition and b12 is for the blood and an intrinsic factor of digestive system.and if you need either the multi vit is useless

i`ve been taking vitamins since my early 20`s and believe me i`m quite happy that i did it and still do.
vit. E is an anti-oxidant and is excellent for the skin
B-12, B-50, B-100 or B-complex are amazingly great for the brain fonctions. i used to call them my anti-***** as it`s pretty damn good for pms time, also for when you feel depress. i also use vit. C and my doctor couldn`t believe how clear my lungs were, i`m a smoker. natural is best for you not the chemical that those doctors can give you.

Vitamin E greatly benefits the cardiovascular system, gives the arteries elasticity, and helps thin down the blood, an alternate method to prescription blood thinners

B12 can only be digested in the gut. so vegans need extra supplements in solution or if diagnosed with pernicious anemia a course of injections in the rump [ouch]

B12 is a mood complex, evens your moods. I forget what E is for. But...generally you get all the vitamins you need from eating varied and balanced meals every day so vitamin supplements are just a waste of money really unless you're not eating right.
