How to crack my back-Chiropractor style?!

Question: Does anyone know some safe ways I can crack my back (or with the wife's help) to help with low back pain or neck pain? Can you describe the technique? For example: "lay on left side and bring right knee up to chest and apply pressure to the outer thigh"

a pain in the lower back can also mean that your hips as a problem- maybe one side is lower- it does create pain in the lower back cause this is where they`re attach together. and your neck pain is related to your lower back problem. or vice and versa. too long to explain this reaction of our body. my chiropractor never knew that my hips was lower, so he couldn`t fix my problem. i changed him for an esodynamic practitioner, and he saved my life.

Get an Inversion table!

Your best bet is to go to a Massage Therapist in your area who will allow your wife to watch the massage. Your wife should also receive a massage so her first hand knowledge can be used on you. Low back pain requires regular stretching exercises such as standing with legs shoulder width apart and bending down to touch the floor. With regular daily stretching your reach to the floor will become easier and the goal is to stretch behind your legs as far as you can go. Standing in the same position with your hands on your hips lean back tilting your head and neck backward as far as you can comfortable lean. Again with regular stretching this will become easier. Slow right then left neck rolls rotating in circles will stretch the neck muscles.

That is not a good idea. You can seriously hurt yourself and even herniate a disc. It takes years of practice to do what chiropractors do safely. Instead, either have your wife massage you or like the first person suggested, get yourself an inversion table for traction, that will give you relief as well.

It takes four years of intensive professional training to begin to develop proper Chiropractic adjusting skills. If you needed surgery, would you expect someone to describe the technique so you could 'try it at home'?

Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware!

Do you know the reason for your back or neck pain? For example low back pain is number one condition in musculo-skeletal problems. Low back pain is one of the most common ailments in the U.S., and it is preceded only by colds and the flu for time lost from work.
The cause of back pain may be simple muscle pain, disk herniation, trauma or...etc. The most common - disc herniation. That is why I would recommend to see a doctor/specialist first. I would also recommed only massage which can be done by your wife and NO Home Chiropractic manipulations.

Rod,
you are playing with fire by trying this at home.
sure, it looks simple when your chiropractor does what he/she does but it requires 6 to 7 years of training to make it look simple.
