The best way to become a herbalist is to join a course on alternative or complementary medicine, offered by many colleges and universities.Here is one place that you can explore:

There are many others, just type in "Complementary and Alternative Medicine" and "courses" in Google, you will see others.
This is what my daughter wants to do after she graduates f rom high school. We did an internet search for schools and found two of them within 50 miles of us, where she can attend and become a certified herbalist/natural practitioner. There are also online schools for this.
There are only four schools in the US that really have a naturopath degree. You might contact one of their graduates (found at http://www.vitabase.com/tools/nd-locate/... to get more info.
