Do you know anything about Nystatin?!

Question: I am currently taking a 2 week supply of nystatin b/c I have candida. (A yeast overgrowth in my entire body). I used to get chronic yeast infections from my illness (until I figured out what it was and began treatment). Anyway, my dr. thought I was ready to stop my treatment and when I stopped, it flared up again. Now, Im back on nystatin. My question is, could the nystatin make me succeptable to (vaginal) bacteria infections. cause I think i have one but ive been to the doc over 50x in the past couple mnths and i cant take another exam!!=( please dont reply if youre going to be rude, this is serious...i cant stop crying

Not all bacteria are bad. So its good with any meds like that to take in things that will contribute to good bacteria. Take in between the times of taking the nystatin not right after or before. There are many different good bacteria cultures you can take. Find one you need to keep refrigerated. Unsweetened yogurt that is organic will help too. If you dont have a lot of good bacteria in your body then when the nystatin is stopped the bad will flourish. Could there be something else going on in your body that might cause the yeast to return after treatment? diabetes, oral contraceptive use, steroid treatment and antibiotic use can cause recurrence of yeast infections.
Our bodies are more sensitive than we think. Sometimes something simple can help us. I have researched this on the Internet and found for me what helps when one is coming on is hydrogen peroxide diluted 1teaspoon to a cup of water in a douche internal with vitamin e capsules squeezed out external. The peroxide has lots of what is normally present internally. A little tea tree oil is good too. Its important to get your whole body under control. Its not just something affecting one part of you but is a symptom of what is happening your body showing its out of whack.

Nystatin is to help yeast infections. If you are really having a problem With candida, you should try a health food store, and do a full body cleansing. People at the store should be able to set you up. You should also do as the instructions for the cleansing suggest, and change your diet (watch your sweet intake, etc.).Also, do you take a lot of antibiotics? Those will totally cause chronic yeast infections...they kill the good and the bad bacteria and make your body prime for candida overgrowth and yeast infections! Good Luck, to you!

From my research, I've never heard of Nystatin causing that. That's not to say its not possible, but I've never seen it said. My son is on a rotation of antifungals - 5 days of Diflucan, 14 days of Uva Ursi, and 30 days of Nystatin. He'll do that for about 6 months. So, I don't know, I'm not a doctor. But maybe you could look into rotating different meds and see if you have better results.
