What do you do to fight a cold? thanks everyone!?!

Question: Couple of simple things I find help tremendously:
Eat lots of citrus fruit - oranges are the best right now.
Vitamin capsules just don't cut it.
Take Zinc in addition - combined with the vitamins, it makes for a great cold fighter.
I also find that taking a really, really steaming hot bath and staying in it until you get dizzy (basically overheating your body - killing off some of the virus) helps.

To sleep like a baby (adults only!):
Two fingers width of rum, juice of half a lemon and some honey or sugar to sweeten to taste into a mug - fill the rest with boiling water and drink it. You'll have about a half hour before you'll sleep like a rock. Everybody feels muuuch better the next day ;)

tea and hotsause it worked for me

There's no cure for ANY virus of any kind, period.
So you need to avoid all these so-called remedies, which are really just scams, like Airborne ("Invented by a Teacher!" - as if teachers are somehow smarter than scientists...).

All you can do is stay in good condition so your immune system will be in top running shape to beat the cold.

Plenty of sleep, plenty of liquids, plenty of nourishment.
Don't eat anything with sugar, don't eat any junk food, etc.

We use oil of oregano and it works almost overnight--depending on how bad your cold is. If you're just starting to feel under the weather, it'll work pretty quickly, but if you've waited and your cold has gotten worse, then it'll take a couple of days to work.

Oil of oregano does stop the cold from getting worse, so if your throat is hurting, taking oil of oregano will make the pain stop and will start to make you feel better.

At the first signs of a cold, start taking Cold Eeze losonges. You cannot have anything containing vitamin c during the cold if you are taking cold eeze, because the vitamin c will counteract with the zinc.

No other zinc losonge on the market will do.

These losonges, when taken as directed, will reduce the duration of your cold by half. Also, they may help keep the symptoms from becoming full blown.

They won't reduce the severity of already existing symptoms.

Cold Eeze zinc losonges must be started at the first signs of a cold if you are going to get benefit from them.

Echinacea is considered to be an immune stimulant. It appears to activate the body's infection-fighting capacity. In Germany, echinacea is the main remedy for minor respiratory infections.Take echinacea at the first sign of a cold and continue for 7 to 14 days. Long-term use may not be helpful.
Echinacea is believed to reduce the symptoms of Cold and Flu and helps in the recovery.

I use a simple drink made by myself : 1 slice of orange+1 of lemon + 1tablespoon of honey+150 g hot red wine.

drink a lot of orange juice,
take care!

AIRBORNE.

Didn't used to believe in that stuff until I tried it myself, and now I'm hooked. Been a fan for 2 years now.

When I take it right when I feel icky, I'm over the symptoms by the next day. If I take it after a virus has already developed, I get over the illness pretty quick (4-5 days). It has a mixture of vitamins/herbs that are all known to increase immunity.

Tips: Drink it 3 times a day...morning/noon/evening. The flavors aren't all that great, but Lemon-Lime is the most tolerable. It will go down easier if you place one tablet in a small amount of water (about 4 oz), drink it like a shot, then chase it with a glass of citrus juice to take the taste out of your mouth.

Keep in mind that you have to stay more hydrated than normal because viruses thrive in dry environments. You'll know if you're getting the right amount of liquid if you're going to the bathroom at least once every couple hours.
