Can anyone recommend any alternatives to zopiclone for a good nights sleep?!

Question: Something which can be purchased easily and taken long term would be ideal (it's not for myself) thanks!

The person needs to look at the reasons why they are not sleeping and try to sort those out, rather than just keep popping pills to get to sleep. However, this is easier said than done I know.
The obvious advice, such as avoiding drinks that contain caffeine for at least two hours before bed, getting plenty of fresh air and exercise, making sure that the bedroom is neither too hot or cold and having a relaxing bath with lavender and chamomile essential oils in applies.
They are going to be best off looking at a herb called valerian. It is contained within most herbal sleeping tablets along with passiflora. You can get Valerian from health food shops. You can brew the root to make a tea, get ready made tea bags, or take it in capsule form. My advice? The capsules, as the tea smells and tastes absolutely disgusting!
Hope this helps.

You can buy natural sleeping pills, places like Boots. I find they great, take them round about an hour before you want to be asleep and you feel drwosy but not drugged up like the chemical ones do. Work through the night and you're not left feeling like you have a hangover the next day because the herbs have worked in tune with your body, not forcing it to do anything un-naturally.
Visit your local health food store for a wider range of things - sleeping pillows, lavender oil ect

Do these exercises everyday, and after a few days you will sleep well.Continue the exercises once a day after you have overcome the sleep problem.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after 1 minute.
Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for upto 15 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
