Can accupuncture help me?!

Question: I am interested in alternative therapies for myself. I have been having a lot of trouble sleeping, losing weight, and got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.
Can accupuncture help me with any of this? IT is covered by my work health benefits program, so I figure if it will work I might give it a shot... have any of you had accunpuncture?

Acupuncture can certainly help you with the sleeping issue and some with the weight loss as well as your RA. You may want to consider detox program and diet change if you wish to address your RA and weight loss. Since RA is an auto-immune disease, the toxins, chemicals, and other garbage in our food has been known to cause auto-immune diseases. Removing junk food and processed foods may diminish or eliminate your RA disease. You'll also find it easier to lose weight by doing so as well since the organs will function better without the toxins.

Yes I have, and it did work for back pain that radiated down my leg. But you have to go with an open mind that it is going to work.

I had acupuncture for migraines. It did work, but it's a treatment not a cure. That means that when you quit going it quits working. I was doing treatments 2 times a week, plus treatments when I had breakthrough headaches. Even though it was covered by my insurance, it still cost $10 a trip. So for $80/month it wasn't worth it to have to go every week for the rest of my life.

A real accupuncturist might. Go to a licensed naturopath that knows accupuncture. Here is a free directory that contains only licensed naturopaths:
