Have you ever had acupuncture, did it help or was it a waste of money?!

Question: Ok, this is a great question for me to run across. I used to be very wery about acupuncture, mainly cause the sticking of needles in me, lol.

I actually got a job as a office coordinator a few years ago at an acupuncture clinic and seen the results that came out of the office. I even personally was getting some treatment for back pain while working there and it worked.

It can work to cure pretty much anything. Has even been known (off books) to cure cancer, not FDA approved. It is great for weight loss, stress, pain, etc.

Go for it, go in open minded and work with the Acupuncturist though!

^what they said! however be very careful and make sure the doc is qualified and knows what they're doing >_>

I had acupuncture and I think it was one of the biggest wastes of money ever.

I had acupuncture done back in 1994 to help relieve my muscle spasm I had in my neck.At the time,I was studying Tai-chi and my Sifu helped by doing acupuncture and moxibustion.A few years later, I injured my lower back and he did acupuncture/moxibustion on my back.It is something you should consider doing, however I would go through the yellow pages and find some type of information on a certified acupuncturist in your area.

helped greatly with anxiety

If you are susceptible to the placebo effect then acupuncture will probably work for you.

No no no !

It's the "puncture" bit that I don't like !

Yes. I have used accupunture for two things. It helped me to quit smoking. It also (at least temporarily) relieved my knee pain. A side effect is that it is very relaxing. I went to an excellent accupuncturist. Be sure you check credentials before going. And, BTW, the needles used for accupuncture are very thin. It is not a painful experience for most people.
