Generally if the warts are really bad they have to be removed surgically. If they are not large they can be removed by using an over the counter wart remover. I recomend the home freeze kits. Two of my daughters had them and the home kits froze them off to avoid surgery. There are also pads that you can buy that you adhese to the wart and it cushions the pain until it gets removed. The proceedure to remove them at the hospital is very fast and they heal up in virtually no time.
