Why do people get so snotty on YA... eg: LAURA J... NUTRITIONIST?!

Question: I just had a personal message sent from LAURA J saying "get your facts straight" etc. Why can't people accept that there are differences of opinions and that theirs may not always be right? We don't know everything we can about the body or the mind and nastiness doesn't make you smarter.

According to her bio she has a "certificate" in nutrition....not a degree? She touts herself as a "professional business mentor" ....whatever that is. Yet she continues to give advice to medical questions. I think she would be better off if she limited herself to "business" forums.

opinions and facts are two very different things, you can have an opinion about anything and share that opinion, but if you are going to give specific advice, make sure you do know your facts.

Laura J probably put it nicer then I would Have!

First Chicken soup could never reach $500 dollars a can. If so the Government would have to make it illegal to has or produce chickens without a government license. And we have see how good that works for all the pot out there.
Chicken soup is Water, Chicken carcass, onions, celery, salt and pepper, coriander and what ever else you decide you want to put into it..

As for not excepting e-mails from you ...well what can I say. Some people just do not know how to take to ignorant people or just know that there is nothing they can say to make them think a little more before they decide to put a comment up>

UPDATE:

I tracked down your answer and her answer and compared them. Penicillin is for bacteria not viruses and the government doesn't approve natural non toxic cures because there is no money in it for the pharmaceuticals, so what you are saying is that you shouldn't question medicine based on this belief that if food cured you, they would put a heavy price tag on it.

Your way off. However, if Laura J was being snotty with the "get your facts straight" statement, again... I'll slap her for you if I can find out where she lives.

**************************************...

Well, it depends. Did you say something completely inaccurate in a question that required facts or did you leave an opinion for an emotional question?

Sometimes, people feel compelled to correct someone for saying something that they feel is fact but are actually way off.

If she was being snotty about it, then she needs to get her but kicked. I guess I'll find out where she lives and kick her but for you.

people are ignorant or idiots or both, chicken soup acts like a placebo cos of old myths

As I told Laura J. if you had a problem with her, you should have kept it between the two of you, and not put a smart A** comment in your answer to that question. I also think you are being a TOTAL JERK for not just letting it go! Y/A is for helping people with different problems, not fussing at one another...If you don't agree with someone, then e-mail them, instead of making a big deal out of it if front of everyone else!!

Now do you see why I'm not on YA as much anymore....

Have some compassion for the poor girl. She says she has a certificate in nutrition. I heard through the grapevine that she got that degree as a perk for purchasing an entire case of Fig Newtons. I have it from a reliable source that her husband is out of work and suggested that she find another option to support him since the cops are cracking down on truckstop entertainment (if you know what I mean). So she saw the free nutrionist certificate ad in the National Enquirer and decided to order up the cookies in the hopes of a refreshing career move that would buy her hubby more Rolling Rock than the Saddie Hawkins dance at the firehall. Sadly she has ballooned up to a half ton from eating them all and her crumb smeared lips quiver with regret as she types out her dreams in her lonely double wide.
