Both. VA Hospitals are government own. Most hospitals these days seem to belong to large health care corporations. Here in Kansas City HCA Healthcare owns about 6 big hospitals. The Catholic church also owns a few.
Some hospitals are private. Some are owned and managed by religions. And some are government owned.
