orange juice works great
Dont talk, dont use your vocal cords in any way.
Drink warmed honey, as it is an antibacterial. I found it helps me get my voice back.
Just remember if you push your sore throat too much you may cause more damage and take more time to heal
Garlic is the answer.
Suck on a clove preferably organic.
If you can't stand the taste. Take the garlic pills.
try gargling diluted tcp
either garggle with warm salt water but for better flavor garggle with Pepsi or Diet Pepsi. It is supposed to clean out your throat and it usually helps me!
Gurgle with something salty (my husband says he can help you with that)
hi
drink honey and lemon in warm water.
zinc lozenges
hot tea with honey in it, sip it also honey and limone drops both has always worked for me, i have proformed with a traveling vocal group for years and before we went onstage we sucked on lemon wedges
Shout at urself it might make it run
Gargle with hot salt water. (Hot tap water and salt from the salt shaker.)
Try to chew some ginger, it works for my father.
gargle with salt water .
85% of sore throats are viral and self limiting which means, like colds there is actually no treatment or method of reducing their duration. A grove of lemons, 2 hives of honey and 3 Holland and Barrett shops filled with vitamins and echinicea, would make no difference at all.
Take regular paracetamol and/or ibuprofen, provided you have no contra-indications. Do not swallow aspirin as the risks to the GI tract outweigh any benefit and do not gargle with it, it is irritant locally and can make your throat more inflammed and painful! Also avoid salt gargles as these are also considered potentially hamful and have no theraputic effect.
Locally acting sprays like Diflam and chloraseptic can be useful.
Doctor told me to use soluble aspirin , just gargle with 3 dissolved in warm water but don't swallow just spit out every 3 hours.
