Answers: has anyone done a colon cleanse? do they work? did you feel better? what kind did you use?

I do regular colon cleanses. I found that my product choice was the best one because it didn't contain fiber and i have used for 3 years now and still always achieve the results I want. Here is some information for you on the different types of cleanses out there. good luck!!!

There are many different methods for cleansing the colon. Some of them are more effective (and safer) than others. Let's look at the different types of cleansing options.
colon cleansing methods
Colon Hydrotherapy

Basically, colon hydrotherapy involves warm, filtered water being gently fused into the colon through the anus via disposable plastic tubing. This procedure should only be performed by a certified or licensed professional. Visit www.cathysheaschool.com for a list of internationally qualified graduates. Colon hydrotherapy cleanses the large intestine only, and the instrument used must be FDA cleared to ensure sanitary conditions.

When used in conjunction with an oxygen-based cleanser, it's possible, over time, to rid the body of toxins and impacted toxins in both the small and large intestine. Home use systems are available and are best used as an adjunct to professional hydrotherapy.
Colon hydrotherapy is also commonly known as "colonic irrigation" or a "colenema."
Enemas

Enemas are often used to relieve constipation. A small amount of liquid, usually water, is inserted though the anus into the rectum to clear the bowel. However, this process is only effective for loosening fecal matter in the lower portion of the intestine.

Enemas can be effective in acute cases of constipation, but they provide few long-term results for improving wellness. You may find enemas awkward or uncomfortable because they require you to insert a tube into your anus, which is understandably something that makes many people uneasy.
Laxatives

Laxatives are taken orally and used to treat temporary constipation. They work by softening stool as well as causing a contraction of the intestinal muscles which result in a bowel movement.

While laxatives are effective for occasional constipation, they shouldn't be used for chronic conditions. As they do not remove impacted fecal matter from the intestinal walls.

Laxatives also carry with them a risk of dehydration. Anyone who's ever taken a laxative knows that they can also cause discomfort and intestinal cramping.
Herbal Colon Cleansers

Herbal cleansers containing psyllium are another option for colon cleansing. The psyllium in herbal remedies causes the stool to increase in volume. And this in turn causes the colon to contract.

Herbal colon cleansers are inexpensive and helpful for short-term constipation, but they're not effective in removing impacted feces from the colon. They may alleviate discomfort, but they don't actually cleanse the colon, which means the problem is likely to reoccur.
Oxygen-Based Colon Cleansing

The most effective method for colon cleansing is the use of oxygen-based cleansers. These are usually taken orally in capsule form. They use activated oxygen to naturally remove impacted fecal matter. They're extremely helpful in relieving constipation, but can also be used long-term to maintain and rejuvenate the colon.

Oxygen cleansers actually help remove toxins and build-up inside the intestines. The vital oxygen in these cleansers provides a great remedy for constipation without causing discomfort or dehydration. When you use an oxygen-based cleansing system, you don't have to worry about the risks associated with other methods.

Combining the use of oxygen cleansers with colon hydrotherapy is proven to show optimum results. I personally recommended oxygen colon cleanser and all-purpose oxygen therapy product is Oxy-Powder?.

I have been doing that for 30years I also sell psylium powder. what it does is the powder expands in the colon, and pulls out all the bad stuff, when you eliminate, its good for constpation, diahrea, good for the heart, and will lower cholestrol, good luck

I did a few colonics, but the procedure itself was to painful for me. I did an all natural colon cleanse orally and really got results, and so did my boyfriend, who eats really healthy. I would try one, but for the first day do it when you dont have to leave the house. You wont know how your body reacts to it and you may have to race to thr bathroom. But its not a laxative. You get lots of real stools out. Good luck

I've taken the pills before and they totally work! I know this is sick and probably too much information but they give you the best sh!ts ever! I lost about 5 lbs in a week and you just feel totally clean inside and out. The brand that I used was "Natures Secret". Theres two bottles~one is a mutli-herb and the other is a really strong fiber pill. Give it a try. It's great!

Colon cleansing and colon cleansers are worthless. They do nothing to improve your health. The hucksters who sell the products and equipment used in colon cleansing have a smooth and convincing line for the uninformed, and they make their money by getting you to buy and use products you do not need, that provide no health benefit, and which you cannot return.

Want proof? Just ask the promoters to provide you with peer-reviewed articles from reputable peer-review journals that prove any benefit whatsoever from colon cleansing, and they won't be able to show you a single one! What they will show you is a worthless substitute: testimonials from people who claim they feel so much better after going through their colon cleansing, but you won't see any clinical trials in any articles. Testimonials don't prove anything, ever!

There are medical reasons for one sometimes to have an enema -- when one is constipated, or to prepare for an internal examination or for surgery. But if you're eating correctly, you will never be constipated, and you will not need an enema unless you are preparing for a sigmoidoscopy, a colonoscopy, or intestinal surgery.

Don't be taken in by the hucksters who promote colon cleansing -- no matter how convincing their pitch may sound, remember that there is no sound medical evidence at all to back up one single word they say. Don't waster your money or your time using products and equipment that costs plenty but provides no meaningful health benefit.

Maybe try the Whole body cleanser. I tried one and it worked great it does not make you constipated and it works for the whole body. Your feel lighter and more energetic after wards. The only thing is that you half make sure your eating right during and after wards as well before the cleanser not only cleans the bad bacteria and toxins out of your body it has may remove the good bacteria that help fight off the bad on a regular basis. So you may take other supplements or eat more foods with good bacteria like yogurts, cottage cheese, dairy products, or if you are a vegetarian or vegan other foods like your grains like whole grain breads and/or foods, soy milk, to add protein, or almond or rice with added vitamins and antioxidants and so forth. Also eating fresh fruits and vegetables like leafy green vegetable and so on. The whole body cleanser works great but your also need to eat foods that are good for you too, to replenish your body and immune system also to reap the full benefits. Good luck!!

I would recommend the real colon cleanse!!
I felt so great after mine, energetic and clear headed. However, during the colonic bile is released which makes you feel kind of sick. During is just like taking a really bad crap and after is like a high of releasing everything. I now don't like to pay the $150 for a colonic, so I bought an enema kit. done. I lost five pounds just after one and never saw such great hights in the white bowl!

If you choose to do a colon cleanse kit with herbal supplements just make sure to eat a really healthy diet!

colon cleanse is a highly effective way to improve your overall well being. one third of the fecal material is bacteria the body collects and expels.
colonics I would stay away from for many reasons, pain, infection, possible puncture of colon wall

"I am a physician" would do well to read a book entitled "Death begins in the Colon". He/she is certainly well educated but does not rely on own intelligence and knowledge. Reliance on peer-reviewed journals to determine treatment methods is passing responsibility for patient well being.

Use a cleanse from the health food store. they are effective and cost much less than the highly advertised ones.

You might research the different brands over at NutritionalTree. They do not sell any, but do review and rate them.
