Has any one tried the new detox foot pads as see on TV please let me know how th!

Question: You can soak your feet in a garlic solution and smell the garlic on your breath afterwards. Read the following testimonial found at http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/garl...
"Shelley (shelleybrinkley@yahoo.com) from Olney, Illinois writes: "I like to put olive oil on my feet and then cut up diced garlic between my toes and all over the bottom of my feet. I then put my socks on and go to sleep. This helps distribute garlic throughout your body..IN FACT...you can even taste it after several minutes!!""

Not only does the skin absorb nutrients and chemicals it is also an elimination organ. According to http://www.pureinsideout.com/detox-skin-... "The skin is the largest elimination organ, it is known to be responsible for 10 to 15% of total body elimination, and is sometimes referred to as the third kidney."

So even though I haven't tried the detox foot pads, I feel quite confident that they would work but there may be a less expensive way to detox that works just as well such as the epsom salt - I don't know. Then again one person at http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Do_Kinoki_deto... says, "I put 5 drops of distilled water on one of the pads and it did the same thing - dark brown." So maybe they are just snake oil afterall???

i've wanted to try them!!! i heard they actually work

Well, I heard that it's useless, despite the fact that I never used it, you can get the same result by soaking your feet in Epsom salt for a while. You might want to Google it before you buy it. That's what I always do.

It's a scam.

Detox footpads (such as the LIFE Foot Patch?) operate on the principle of withdrawing toxins from the body through the more than 60 acupuncture points found on the soles of your feet. Many natural healthcare practitioners believe toxins travel downward through the body during the day and these special points on the bottom of the foot are directly related to the major organs and systems of the body.

I've tried them, though i doubt for long enough as i can't afford it! i like them, if nothing else they help me sleep better. they basically go on at night, then come off all brown sticky and smelly in the morning. i dont know though whether that is actual "toxins" or justthe result of your feet sweating in the night

No I havent tried them.

Ask your self how the skin plays a role in detoxification.

nonsensical concepts of detoxification

You are better off with the ionic foot baths and I don't know if they are really that much better.

No it is silly..we are not like trees..we don't get food through our feet...many thousand of yrs ago..yeah it made since to them..not now..there are many proven things that will help your wellness that have been proven
