I used to have anxiety attacks and still have them once in a while.

What helps me is:

1. Take long, deep breaths. It slows the heart beat. I used to feel a warmth throughout my whole body, this is normal.

2. Drink Orange Blossom (very hot) or Valeriane herbal tea. It helps relax before you go to bed.

3. Take a hot bath. It knocks me right out.

4. Listen to self-hypnosis tape. It saved me from insanity many times. It is called "Relieves Stress and Anxiety" and you can find it at www.thepotentialsunlimited.com

When I had surgery last year I panicked again because I had weird reactions to pain killers and I listened to it about 4 times a day. I was glad I still had it after 15 years !!!

5. Get into meditation and yoga classes. You will learn A LOT of relaxation techniques. Or you can get a book on it.

6. Self-help classes would also help. Panick attacks are the result of repressed emotions and I am pretty sure if you dig inside yourself you will find stuff that will amaze you.

My panick attacks were the result of me, as a child, not knowing in which kind of a mood my alcoholic dad would be when he got home.

7. As weird as it sounds, stay away from refined sugar and coffee.

8. Stay away from negative people.

9. Do physical exercise. It stimulates the endorphins in your brain, endorphins are the pleasure hormone that are released when you exercise, listen to music or do pleasant activities.

10. Find your passion. Me, it was martial arts. It kept me busy enough to stop worrying. Life is much better when you are working towards a goals that you have at heart.

Lastly, if all that fails, which I doubt, I recommend you see a doctor. Your hormones might need some help to be balanced. Even if they put you on medication, tell yourself that this is temporary and that you will not need it for long.

Yeah cut down on the sugar and caffeine
which I dont do

I get em, I always carry a little flask of something to sip on if I think I'm going to panic. Water, Juice, faling that something stronger like vodka.

Breathwork, yoga....my favorite natural techniques to help you. They all entail deep relaxation/you train your body and your mind to learn to relax.

I urge you to listen to Dr Weil's audio book entitled, "Breathing: The Master Key to Self Healing with Dr.Weil"

Try Kundalini yoga http://www.amazon.com/Kundalini-Beginner...

Work out what it is that causes your attacks first I guess. I was getting them for a while due to a traumatizing accident at work, I opened up to everyone and anybody about them so I could talk about it then I would always finish my sentences with but I am going to get over them because I do not want them to rule my life anymore. So I guess I talked myself out of it all. A year later and I havent had an attack for while now and feel strong enough to not let them take over me again. It can be done ... give it a go. The fact that you get this condition in the first place suggests to me that you have a strong mind anyway so you could easily talk it all away. GoodLuck ... :)

Get some lavender oil, not the cheap kind, open it up and breathe deep. It's a relaxing aromatherapy and it won't harm you. But also, like another answer said cut back on caffeine and sugar. I'd even say eliminate them altogether, if you can. Even too much fruit sugar can be a problem. And, go to your local library. There are plenty of books and audio books out there. Learn relaxation techniques. Learn how to meditate, exercise, and get a hobby that can really occupy your mind for at least a little while when you do it, which should be often. And think positive. You can do whatever you put your mind to.

Cutting down on sugar and caffeine should help. Try to do more exercise too. When you feel like an anxiety attack may be coming on try a herbal calming remedy. I use a rescue remedy spray which works really well. Also try and do regular breathing exercises. This website has some good ones:

Hope that helps!

Your pressure may be fluctuating which should be controlled. One way is with medicine and the other is doing YOGA and PRANAYAM (i.e deep breathing). These are the Indian style of curing the deceases. But the most important thing is your attitude. Please try to find out at least one positive point even in the worst condition. Remember, You get more happiness when u make others happy.

I'm also having anxiety and depression , this guide will definitely help you without taking drugs.

Anxiety is caused by a toxic liver. Cleanse you liver and your anxiety will go.

These days I am recommending a Hulda Clark type liver flush, google it. and then a course of treatment with MMS.
To learn about MMS go to www.HealthSalon.org. They have all the details there, as well as the liver flush.

I have a friend who has been taking clonazapam daily for many years due to anxiety. He has not done the above but went on some kind of vitamin detox program and he is sleeping better and uses the meds now only a couple of times a week instead of every day. The detox program worked for him in part, and he did have detox symtoms, a herx reaction as it is called, or a healing crisis, including sweating, lethargy and dizziness as the toxins came out. His poor liver worked hard to get rid of the poison with the help of the program he did but he is doing so much better now. He needs to do more and he has become so convinced that he is planning further detox work till he gets off of all the meds.

hi , I would suggest you to go for reiki treatment. <a href=http://answers.yahoo.com/question/"http://www.reiki.jdvm.info/reiki-t... Choice Healing Center </a> is the palce where you can get solution for that.

You need to see a naturopath or herbalist and get properly assessed and treated.

Physical reasons for anxiety range from various dietary imbalances such as minerals, fatty acid metabolism, etc. There are plenty of good medicines, but they are only part of the treatment. Retail medicines such as Valerian, St. John's Wort, etc may be of some help but are often of not the best quality like practitionar medicines. Some of these for anxiety may be contra-indicated in depression.

Much also depends on your age and other factors such as hormonal balance.

Hi Stacy I've used St John's Wort and Valerian Root for several years and had pretty good results heres what one source says about it.
* St. John's wort has been used for centuries to treat mental disorders and nerve pain.
* In ancient times, herbalists wrote about its use as a sedative and a treatment for malaria, as well as a balm for wounds, burns, and insect bites.
* Today, St. John's wort is used by some for depression, anxiety, and/or sleep disorders.

If your depression and anxiety are symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), which can be determined by a 5-hour (not shorter) glucose tolerance test, then dietary changes (including cutting out all sugar and caffeine) and exercise will definitely help.

Bach Flower Essences - Rescue Remedy works great for anxiety, as does yoga. St. John's Wort, B-12 and jogging are all great for depression.

yes, you can try the following:

Yes, there are definitely lots of ways to treat depression and anxiety naturally.

Breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, visualization, herbal treatments, yoga, meditation are all very effective methods.

Like anything else in life,.you get out of them what you put into them. It takes time, and usually a combination of techniques to determine what is right for you.
