I take Bcomplex and when I am stressed I also take a sublingual B12 and have never had any problems but you may want to try something else if you are trying to get more energy.
Try taking the B50 in the morning and then at bedtime take 200 mg magnesium about three times a week. Like maybe Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday night.

If you are on meds you need to check if magnesium is safe to take with them

Yes there is truth to it. B vitamins are not water soluble so they will stay in your system longer. If you are taking a multi-vitamin, it already has your daily requirement your body needs. If you take more, it can be toxic!
B-Complex is water soluble as well as C Vitamins.

I've never heard of that, though I would think the Pharmacist would know about stuff like that. Anyway, I take a multi-Vitamin and a B-complex, it does give me a lot more energy than I used to have. Hope you get to feeling better !

B vitamins work together .It is best to take a complex . Not sure what she is talking about it dont make any sense.

i was told that you can't take too many b vitamins. if you overload your body then they just get flushed out in your urine.

It's a crock.

B vitamins are not stored in the fat cells. They are water soluble, and as such any excess is quickly excreted through urine.

pharmacist is incorrect about not taking with a multivitamin, she should go back to (natural health) school. I think that this is the issue that the pharmacist was TRYING to get at. B-12 or any isolated b vitamin can cause a serious imbalance among all of them. If you take a unbalanced(high) dose of B-12 you could inadvertently hide a deficiency of another B vitamin which could lead to possibly pernicious anemia a very serious condition. But it is nonsense to say not to take B-12 with a multi.

NLuv is quite wrong. B vitamins ARE water soluble. Furthermore, most of them are rapdily excreted in the urine.

B12 is an exception though. While it is still water soluble, it is highly bound to blood proteins and not excreted quickly.

Taking a B-complex and B12 would not be unsafe, just a waste of money.

The thing with B12 is that it doesn't passively absorb into your system. It requires other factors and conditions in order to absorb. If you are unable to absorb B12 (about the only way you can become deficient) then you could line your entire gastrointestinal tract with pills and it won't help. You would need shots.

What you are describing doesn't sound like a vitamin deficiency at any rate. See your doctor.

I don't know what your Pharmacist problem was. B-12 is not absorbed well in a pill form. You would need B-12 injections.
