From a technical standpoint, Valium as a drug is stronger than Percocet as a drug. But if you can handle the effects of a 5mg Percocet then I would say that you are safe to try the 5mg Valium. Obviously you'll want to try it when you have enough time to rest if it effects you too strongly and all. Perhaps a Saturday night when you don't have much else to do the next morning, just in case it does hit you harder than we have anticipated. I don't want to give you all these warnings and stuff like everyone else. I don't think you're stupid. But I think from my personal experience (I have been on both of these medications for a long period of time as well as many others) that you will be just fine trying the Valium.

I swear antidepressants have been proven not to work?

Basically depends on how bad your pain is and how bad your panic attacks are. If your pain is mild to moderate then the percocet is probably a good mg. However it depends on how bad your panic attacks are and how your body will react to the valium. I am not a doctor I am just giving you my personal opinion based on past experience due to a car wreak. I too was in extreme back pain and the thought of driving just sent me over the edge. My nerve medication after trying several was xanax. Good luck and do be careful with these medications considering they are both addictive.

Not sure if you can compare them. They are both depressants so they are similar in that respect. Comparing 5 mg of one vs 5 mg of the other is like comparing apples to oranges - they are different. Both are addicting. Best advice is not to use either unless there is a good reason (short term).
