What is much more important then gauss strength is a pure magnetic north field. If the bracelet has the south magnetic field towards the body then it does not matter if it has 5,000 gauss strength, it will not have positive effects. It must be a pure north field towards the body, even if it has only 1,000 gauss strength, it will work 100 times better with a pure north field.
My sister bought very expensive magnets for her TMJ. She said they didn't do anything to help her and were a waste of money.
