Equine Massage Therapy??!
Question: Hi, I am going to school to be certified in Equine Massage Therapy. After this onto school for Acupuncture...Is anyone certified in either of these?? If so, what are some great books you could recommend??

I have an EMT certification but unfortunately live in a state where massage can only be done by veterinarians! Check the laws in your state too before you start your massage business.
Not sure I would enjoy having a horse massage me.

Were you trained in "TTouch?" This was developed by Linda Tellington Jones. Originally it was called "T.E.A.M." work, but was changed several years ago. If you aren't aware of it, I highly recommend looking into it. She has several books and videos out. I've had a very limited amount of training in it.

TTouch isn't really massage but more of a type of structured touch that works on the nervous system of the animal. It is very interesting. I took a few classes in it when it first started.
I am a massage therapist and have been for 20 years. There is a lot of controversy over whether licensed massage therapists need more training to work on horses or not. Some horse enthusiasts that don't have any massage training are also wanting to work on horses.
Check with your state as to whether or not there are regulations and also see if there are any regulations in the works so you can be in on the ground floor creating them.
There are also many different types of training for working on horses.
