Herbal remedy for itchy ears?!


Question: My ENT says I have allergies and that is why my ears are always itchy and I have some sort of Otitis. Do you know of any herbal remedies that would help? I don't want to use prescription drugs if possible. thanks

NETTLE Urtica dioica..from what I'm reading in Preventions Healing Herbs 200 Natural cures that work... has trace amounts of histamine.This substance triggers allergies. So if youtake this herb your body will build up an immunity to histamines through its own natural anti-histamine. Thus being able to handle an attack of histamine during allergy season.

I used to get prescription cortisone drops for this, but they are expensive to use regularly. Now I just put a little bit of hydrocortisone cream on a q-tip in the ear canal (NOT so far in to damage anything) and this helps a great deal.

Wally's ear oil is available at health food stores. It would also help to take 1000 mg of flaxsseed oil. Take three a day before bed.

Naturopathic treatment consists of screening for food and environmental sensitivities, correcting nutrient deficiencies, and increasing the patient's resistance to disease through natural methods and simple supportive treatment.

Garlic Oil : A few drops in the ear twice a day. May be used alone or with mullein flower oil.

Vitamin A : 50,000 IU twice a day until symptoms improve; if needed after 7 days, reduce to 25,000 IU a day until symptoms are gone.Women who are pregnant or considering pregnancy should not exceed 5,000 IU a day.

Vitamin C/Flavonoids : 1,000 mg vitamin C and 500 mg flavonoids 3 times a day until infection clears.Reduce vitamin C dose if diarrhea develops.

Echinacea : 200 mg 3 times a day until infection clears.Standardized to contain at least 3.5% echinacosides.
