It was reportedly good for building human cartilage in the joints years ago, but no studies actually could prove it really did. Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplements however have shown in some medical studies to actually increase cartilage cell reproduction.

You actually hit it on the head.... it's good for joint health ;-)
Shark Cartilage naturally has a lot of Chondroitin in it, so it helps to support the joint structure itself and helps to keep them lubricated. We have thousands of customers that get a lot of benefits for their joints from various sources of Chondroitin.

It's good for separating you from your hard-earned money.

Its also good for killing sharks for the chondroitin that has not been shown to reduce ANY joint pain

it is digested and poorly absorbed so it probably does nothing except waste your money

It is one of a class of compounds that was discovered by pharmaceutical companies after the deregulation of supplements in 1994.

They have found it is very easy to manufacture since there is no FDA oversight, doesn't actually have to contain the ingredients that are listed on the label, doesn't have to have any pharmacological effect on the body, doesn't have to treat any problem, disease or disorder and it is monumentally profitable to sell to gullible people.

Did that help?

Supporters believe that shark cartilage supplements or cartilage from other animals, such as cows, slow or stop the growth of cancer (see also Bovine Cartilage). Shark cartilage, according to supporters, contains proteins that stop angiogenesis, the process of blood vessel development. Tumors need a network of blood vessels to survive and grow, so cutting off the tumor's blood supply starves it of nutrients, causing it to shrink or disappear.

Some supporters also claim that shark cartilage can help against other diseases such as osteoporosis, arthritis, psoriasis, macular degeneration, and inflammation of the intestinal tract.
