Why dont scientists believe in homeopathic medicines?!
Question: A lot of people take homeopathic remedies simply because they are supposed to be "all natural" but don't take the time find out what homeopathy really is.
Lets say you suffer from insomnia. They look for an ingredient that would CAUSE insomnia to someone that doesn't have it.
They believe that if it can cause the symptoms then it can also cure it. So caffeine causes insomnia so that is there active ingredient in there sleeping pills. Are you following me CAFFEINE TO CURE INSOMNIA!
The they dilute it till it's completely gone ( the more it's diluted the stronger it gets) and low and behold it is now a wonder medicine.
So to summarize, start with an active ingredient that isn't a cure in the first place and then dilute it all away and suddenly it's a homeopathic remedy

I understand that you would be skeptical of the pharmaceutical industry because of the conflict of interest. But do you honestly believe every scientist in the word is on the payroll of big pharma? You don't even have t be a scientist to see how absurd homeopathy is but an I.Q. above 50 helps.

Most of them have never been tested for efficacy. If you want people/scientists to accept something as effective you need to show it works. Not just anecdotal stories, but clinical trials and double blind studies. Non traditional practitioners don't seem to want to do that.
a lot of modern medicine is based on plant extracts, aspirin was originally from willowbark, digitalis(for the heart) is from the fox-glove, and you could just keep going. If however you do not get an exact dose of something herbal either it doesn't work or you overdose. As for not believing in homeopathic medicine, If it works, it works!
To continue what Linda said. If it works, it works AND if it doesnt work it doesnt work. Prove it in a double blind study and go from there
Because so much time is spent in "modern" medical studies. They always have a drug or medication to use from their medical arsenal (some of them are excellent).
Most of the material they use are NOT subjected to "double-blind" studies or tested for placebo. Simply one company's drug tested on an old form of the drug.
They live in the present with their "knowledge" not recognising that even animals in the wild use natural substances for healing and that was the same for thousands of years of human history.
For science to embrace homeopathy, the homeopathy industry would need to do two things:
(a) prove that homeopathy works
and
(b) prove how homeopathy works
[even one of the above would be a start]
At the moment all we have are dull anecdotes and failed clinical trials in place of (a) and unproven junk science (water with a memory, dilution of a substance makes it stronger, shaken water being different to unshaken water etc.) in place of (b).
If homeopathy were shown to work, we would have to rewrite the laws of physics and chemistry.
Not a problem... but such a massive change requires far more evidence than homeopaths have provided.
Some are dangerous, some haven't been studied- some go on to be actual prescriptiuon drugs, though- too.
I think Western medicine likes the quick fix, and money.
They like to create something new, so they can name it for themselves and market it. Not use something that has already been proven to them to actually work.
Because they are all in bed with the pharmaceutical company's. The Pharmaceutical company's don't want the word too get around, that there are natural cures for peoples problems. They want humanity to be enslaved to Man made drugs. It's all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
