Whats the average pay of massage therapy?!

Question: i really wanna know

Answers: i really wanna know

Pay is rather irrelevant when it comes to massage therapists. I have had very average ones who charge $75 an hour. I also had some excellent ethnic masseurs who charge around $55 an hour, but much better and effective working style and know what they are doing. One Filipino man who was deaf had the best touch, he is a teacher by day, and doing massage to make extra cash. Charging me $45 an hour weekly. He used acupressure as well as Chinese rolling style. He gave me a discount because I see him weekly. But still, his skill can earn him up to $75 or more. Find your bargain, especially if you have several sessions scheduled.Remember to always tip at least 10%. I usually do 20% if the guy works hard.

A lazy masseur is one who just gives you a rub down, you feel soothing, but achieving nothing, a lot of those around, watch out.

But they actually don't make that. There are office expenses etc.

  • 50 an hour

    with or without release?

Depends how far you're willing to go. The massage parlour will take a cut too.

It depends...the way you are going to get paid the most is when you work for yourself....and then you can make between 50-150 a session - doing swedish at the low-end and deep tissue, neuromuscular, etc at the high end. Outcalls usually make more for a therapist (as they should) It takes a lot of effort and time to get to the point where you can support yourself doing that....

Most people who work in spas get about 25 an hour where I am....same with a chiropractors office, and quite frankly, "they abuse the staff".....dont schedule rest periods between clients, work you several hours in a row, etc. Or schedule your clients several hours apart - in which case you can't leave, and your hourly rate just went down an awful lot (because what else can you do with your time?)

I charge $40 an hour, but i live in a small town. The other 2 LMT's in town charge $45. Their is a resort about an hour from here that charges $90 an hour. So it depend on where you go.
