Question: im having an ear problem for more than two months. I went to the doctor and he gave me some medicine. it was ranitidine. but when i read the bottle, it says that is for ulcers and acid in the stomach. the stomach has NOTHING to do with my ear at all. is there any answer why he prescribe me this medicine?

sounds like you have got the wrong pills, I took those same pills for 10 yrs for a stomach ulcer, go back to the doctor

you can get ranitidine over the counter.
it is at krogers.
and no, there is NO reason why you would have that prescribed.
when you asked the doctor, what did he/she say??

Believe it or not, ranitidine (the generic name for Zantac) is used because ear infections and acid reflux are somehow weirdly connected. Do a web search for detailed information.
