Swimming pools & Kevin Trudeau's book?!

Question: hi,

I read Kevin Trudeau's first book Natural Cures that they don't want you to know about, and in it
he goes on and on about how harmful swimming pools are:

I was using the pool several times a week and quit about 2 months ago when I read the book, the thing is that I'm recovering from a spinal injury and the pool is really the best exercise for me to do - I can do things in the water that I cannot do easily any other place and for me not to use the pool is a big change in my routine and I"m not sure how to go about improving my spine without it.

and how many toxins do you really absorb from the pool or from taking a shower or bath or hot tub? For me a hot bath or hot tub is one of the main things I do to control pain.

I'm struck at the idiocy of some of his statements. not everyone can just quit all their meds. some people if they quit their meds, they'll die. It isn't so easy and it takes time for these things to help a person..

The man is a quack - its not by coincidence that the Federal Trade Commision has gone after him TWICE (they got him once, and are in the middle of the second process now)

Much of what he says has a tiny smidgen of truth to it....sure, you do absorb some chlorine....enough to posion you? I think not - people who have had chlorinated water thier entire lives are living to thier 80's and 90's....

Throw the book out and put your mind at rest...

I believe it has more to do with inhalation of chlorine vapors--and I think it's mostly at indoor pools that are over-chlorinated by gym or hotel staff that have no idea what they're doing. A home outdoor swimming pooll should be okay since the chlorine levels typically are lower than that in tap water. Besides, there are alternatives to using chlorine in pools. I believe that from any source of information, it's important to absorb what's useful and discard the rest. Interesting question; best of luck to you in your recovery!

There is a lot of truth in Kevin Trudeau's book about natural cures. He is no more of a quack than a dr. who doesn't know what your health problem is and only helps you by giving you a prescription with a lot of side effects and doesn't cure your problem. The FDA and the AMA and many medical schools are partially funded by the pharmacuetical companies to get the perks and to promote their products.

Clorine is a chemical to clean water in pools, like kill bacteria
and is absorb thru the skin causing toxins and cancer. L.A. had high throat cancer caused by the drinking water; they ozonated the city water which is cheaper & throat cancers have gone down. (Was article in L.A. newspaper about it several years back). You won't see this on TV because of all the drugs that advertise on TV wouldn't like it. Pool water is so bad that most foreign countries don't like to have the water olympics here. When they do, they have to use other special water treatments or ozonate it.

Regarding the first answer about people lliving until 70-80s and have swam in clorinated pools; they probably would have lived to 90-100. It doesn't kill them, it just creates more health problems. Our indoor pool at the hospital gym has so much clorine in it, I almost pass out from the suffocating odor, so I don't use it. Being exposed to chemicals is bad as there is no such thing as a 'good chemical'.

There are alternatives to pool water, but not in public pools.
If you had your own pool, then you can use the new 'salt' treatment, or the type they use in Europe & elsewhere, or limit the use in the amount of chemicals you put in . Continue swimming for your back, but do other back strengthening excercizes and wean yourself away from the pool.

I've had back surgery & know all about it. Didn't take any of the 4 prescriptions the dr. gave me when I got out, except for 1 pain pill which I didn't need. My husband had the same surgery, took all 4 of his and then got some stuff over-the-
counter. It took him 3 times longer to recooperate. I didn't do the swimming as the dr. indirectly noted about the bad pool water and said not to swim any more than necessary even though it would help. He is well known here in Houston, and nationwide, as being one of the best. The back surgery he did on me lasted only 1 year and now I got the pain back just as bad as it was before the surgery. So is he a QUACK because he preformed a surgery that didn't help?

You can get an ozonated shower head that filters out the water and use it for baths & showers. Use it immediately after swimming to wash off some of that clorine. Taking a detox cleanse will help you get rid of some of the chemicals.
Since I got my shower head, a lot of friends remark how much better my skin looks. I've had some girlfriends go swimming and come out of the pool with green or yellow hair from the water? Think of what it does that you don't see.

Prescription pills are a drug, which is an addiction. They usually don't cure the problem but you have to keep taking them in order for them to work so your body gets dependent on them. Drug companies really like that. You have to change your diet for a while before getting off the pills.

like you said yourself, he is an idiot. he also thinks that aids, which has killed 40 million people, 5 times as many as the holocaust, is a conspiracy. i wouldnt listen to anything he says except maybe eat less fast food. i swam 5 hours a day 6 days a week when i was in high school and you know what? the health effects are probably minimal at most, and the benefits of increased mobility and excercise easily outweigh and long shot left field risk that it might cause cancer or something. im fine. lisa, you dont even know how to spell chlorine so your medical opinion doesnt hold any weight with me.

Trudeau is an opportunist feeding on people's pain and illness.
He is as slick as can be.
There are some helpful (and true) practices in his books but it's just enough fact to sell the whole lie.
Send the book back and get your money back.
He's a scam artist.
