It works for both allergies and bacteria because it keeps them from sticking to your nasal passages. The neti pot works well, also, steam and salt. I put xylitol in mine, too. I use a nettie pot.. You irrigate your sinuses and it clears out the nasal passages.. You can google it and read about it.. They work great

I use Zicam. It is a swab that you run along the inside of your nose and cuts your cold in half. It is really wonderful - available at a drugstore near you.
