It refers to keeping your thumbs, radium, femur, etc straight for proper body mechanics.

I am LMT and I have read countless books about massage and I have never heard of this. Also if a massage therapist is "adjusting your bones" they are out of their scope of practice and could lose their license. Massage Therapist are only supposed to manipulate soft tissue. Bones are for the chiropractors and d.o.'s.

There are only two things I can think of :

1. Maybe doing assisted joint movements for a minor injury to the elbow or any other joints in that area.

2. The LMT is a quack.

In this business I heard of some cooky things LMT's say helps somebody. But don't give up on massage therapy it is benefical just find a professional and intelligent LMT. So you do get hurt by someone making up false cures. Good Luck!

Stacking the bones refers to proper alignment of the skeletal system so that the muscles don't have to use much effort to hold the body up. With proper alignment, gravity will just lift you up and keep you upright.
It refers to the whole body alignment. Tight muscles pull the body out of alignment and are also weak and don't hold the body up. It doesn't have anything to so with the wrists etc but mainly the bones of support like the pelvis, spine, hips, legs, ankles feet. When those are in alignment, the arms and wrists will be in proper alignment (unless there was some trauma like a break)
It is used mainly in structural integration and other postural based methods, along with Pilates and Yoga.
