Yes, it should. One particular summer doing construction work I was perpetually dehydrating and cramping. I started taking the tonic water with the quinine and also some gator aid, bananas and water but I swore by that quinine.
Tonic water contains quinine - which used to be used as a remedy for muscle spasms - a friend of mine swears by it... for a buck a bottle, its worth a shot. Try it with lime, it reduces the tin mouth effects.
