Problem with B5, any suggestions?!

Question: Hello all,

I have been taking vitamin B5 for my adrenals, I later changed this to pantethine just in case my body was unable to convert the B5. However, I have a problem, I have melesma and since taking the pantethine I've noticed its gotten far worse. My skin has taken on a grainy, grey colour and the darker bits of my face are more prominant. What frustrates me is that on other hand the pathethine is helping: my weight has decreased, my mind is clearer, and I have more energy, I just can't take the side effects. So, is there an alternative to pathethine supplements, maybe a vegtable where I can find it naturally? And before anyone asks I have done a liver/colon/kidney flush, which is why my worsening melesma is so baffling.

Any answers would be gratefully received.

Hey there buddy ? Sounds to me like you aren't digesting the tablets properly and therefore are showing deficiency signs of the B5 (Pantothenic Acid, Panthenol, Calcium Pantothenate).

Go and get yourself some organic apple cider vinegar ~ Braggs is a good quality brand. put 2 tablespoons into a mug and fill with water, mix it up and drink through a straw ............ this will encourage the production of hydrochloric acid in your tummy and aid in digestion of the tablets...... itwill also aid in digestion of your meals and cure an acid tummy by increasing digestion and realkalising your tummy. Apple cider vinegar will eliminate heart burn and acid reflux symptoms........ have two mugs if you have to. All natural ingredients, no chemicals or rubbish to upset sensitive little bodies in organic apple cider vinegar either.

here, check out this link ~

oh, please ensure that you buy organic as the commercial varieties have had so much goodness taken from them that they could really never possibly be used for therapeutic purposes ?

Shake the bottle well too so that the Mother (active ingredient) in it is well dispersed throughout the ACV?

Foods rich in B5 are ~ meat, whole grains, wheat germ, bran, kidney, liver, green vegies, nuts, chicken, unrefined molasses............ eat more foods rich in B5.

B5 is part of the B complex of vitamins and work best as a group ie ~ B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12 .... take a multi B complex supplement. They are a water soluble complex ~ therefore our bodies can neither produce them or store them and we need to ingest them on a daily basis........:0)

take care of you ?

  • Unfortunately, the answer doesn't change from the last time you asked. It sounds like you're having an allergic reaction to something in the product. I would try either a different brand of Pantethine (to see if it's one of the other ingredients or the actual form of Pantethine) or I would go back to standard B5 if you didn't have a reaction to that.
    Good luck!

it would help if you take B5 in a B complex form. Best yet, if you could take a multi vitamin that has the amount of B5 you desire would even be better. That way you benefit from the B5 while the other Vitamins and minerals help alleviate the side effects.

It is important to know that Vitamins are better be taken as a group together. If you take too much of one type, you may get toxicity. Also Vitamins work synergistically, they increase the effect of each other, and balance out the toxicity. Some rely on others to be potent.

To me this is more of a toxicity than allergy. To confirm this you can also go to a Nutrition store to get muscle tested. I think you will see the situation improves if you change to a B complex or multi-vitamin that contains minerals and amino acids as well as all the essential vitamins.

Hi! I to am on B vitamins to help with adrenal fatigue but my doctor of Chinese medicine told me to go with a time released b complex not to take B5 on its own as the b vitamins all work together to help the adrenals, the other thing that I was told was to up my vitamin C intake as this helps the adrenals as well. Hope this helps.
