What's the most effective way to cure a sore throat?!

Question: I've had a sore throat for about a week now and now whenever I talk, swallow, chew or even yawn it really hurts. It just keeps on getting worse. What's the best way to cure a sore throat?

I have a sore throat too, what I did to relieve the pain for a bit was to gargle warm salt water, then I took some medication, the usual stuff (allergy relief, or itch throat, sinus medication) and it's gone down a little, it should be gone in the next two days for me...try it out good luck :-)

gargle with t c p.

gargle with warm salt water. It needs to be hot when you put the salt in so the salt dissolves but don't gargle with it while it's that hot.

Warm tea with honey is especially good.

salt water .

Here's a new one? "Rub some Vick's Vapour Rub" on the out side of the throat, gargle with salt water and vinegar.and suck some licorice. GOOD LUCK.

Hydrogen Peroxide." Gargle with it.
Coca-Cola. "Gargle the fizz loosens phlegm.
Heinze Apple Cider Vinegar." Mix one teaspoon of vinegar in a cup of warm water gargle, swish, and swallow three mouthfulls whenever you have or feel a sore throat coming on. Be sure it is APPLE CIDER VINEGAR.......

Gargle Listerine or Bactidol and your sore throat will heal. Also there are antibacterial lozenges, you may try Ricola candies with herbs and honey, they are very effective and relieves the "ehem" effect. If you prefer a kitchen remedy, try chewing a thin slice of ginger. Most of all avoid cold drinks they are the culprit.
