I drink a cup of chamomille tea, it relaxes me enough to go to sleep.

5-htp or there is melatonin.

Valerian root works well as a herbal relaxant.... IF you can get past the smell..

Here are a few tips:
No caffeine for 4 hours before bed.
No exercise for 2 hours before bed.
No heavy foods for 2 hours before bed.
Have the room dark, cool (with warm blankets) and quiet.
Do some deep breathing, where each breath makes your stomach rise and fall.
Name your body parts and "make" them relax as you name them.
Imagine that you are on a nice beach or in a cool forest (any place of your choice) and allow yourself to see, hear and feel all the things in that comfortable place.
It will be morning before you know it.
