Can i take vitamin e and zinc suppliments while on roaccutane?!

Question: Good afternoon! Roaccutane (Isotretinoin) in oral dosage is known as a "retinoid", in other words, it is chemically similar and derived from Vitamin A, and thereby also found naturally in small amounts within the body. They regulate epithelial cell growth. Epithelial cells are what line most structures of the body and also what many glands of the body are made of....as a result, they effect acne and a few other troublesome conditions. So, with that bit of history, it will help you understand that you may take Vitamin E and Zinc supplements with this chemical substance because of its natural state. Do keep in mind that any substance in excess can have negative consequences to the body and sometimes result in side-effects. Commonly recommended intakes of zinc for men are 10 milligrams and for women are 12 milligrams, however gross deficiencies of a particular vitamin can sometimes require a larger dose. Vitamin E is recommended at 300 to 800 International Units (IUs) per day dependent upon need. It is not recommended to exceed 400 IUs in older patients as some clinical studies have shown an increase risk of serious health risk including death.

I hope this information is helpful to you. All the best! Sincerely, Nathaniel
