How much should you pay your homeopath?!

Question: I have recently become friends with a woman, and since realized she is a homeopath. I have called her a few times asking her for remedies. What is the protocol for payment? I don't want to take advantage of her services, but will she expect it since I am requiring her services?

I would tell her that you would like to give her something in return for all the help that she has given you, and then ask her what her usual rate is. it may be that she has given you remedies because your her friend and isn't expecting payment and in which case you could give her a gift as a thank you. plus if she's a hippy dippy type as most homeopaths are she will probably be happy with some incense(thats a joke!) shes probably less bothered about the money.

I think the fact that you're looking at paying her speaks well of your integrity, if, however, a little belatedly. She is a professional, and has rendered you services as a professional. I would add up the total amount of time you've consulted with her, and give her $1.00 minute. That is to say, $60/hour, minimum, plus a fat tip. If you were to go see an MD, an ND, a DO, or other professional, you'd be paying a LOT more than that, like at least double, perhaps even triple or quadruple. You could also come right out and ask your homeopath/friend what she charges per consultation, or per minute. Most professionals have established rates. Many also have a sliding scale, and well realize that b/c their services are not reimburseable/covered by insurance, that many of their clients cannot pay fair market rates for their services. And yes, she has every RIGHT to expect payment for her services, and you have EVERY obligation to pay. Do you call on your mechanic to fix your car or give you information and expect not to pay him or her, or expect not to pay fair market rates?

Ask her how much she charges and pay it. If she if providing a service then she deserves to be paid unless she tells you outright that it is for free.

You should pay her homeopathically.

1) Put a dollar bill in a shredder.
2) Mix the shredded dollar with a ream of other shredded paper.
3) Take a spoonful of this mix, and put it in a bag with another ream of shredded paper. Mix well.
4) Repeat step 3. Nine more times.
5) Collect a small bag of the well-mixed shred.
This is how you should pay a homeopath, with this "homeopathically potentized money". No doubt the homeopath will be quite pleased!

when you treat her as a friend, pay in friendship, a good gift occasionally, or find out what she needs most - because a friend who provides or fulfills a friends need - is the best gift

If you just had telephone conversations she may not expect payment, but she would probably appreciate a $20-40 tip for her time.
