Turmeric powder has an active property called Curcumin which has shown to inhibit the growth of cancerous cells...there also many other types of herbal compounds which have shown to inhibit cancerous growth... If you want i can email you a paper i wrote on the chemopreventative properties of herbal compounds, it may help you.

OK, i dunno why i have all these stupid thumbs down.....people have been using herbal remedies like these for THOUSANDS of years. Turmeric is used in Indian curries and recent studies have found that ppl in the sub-asian continent have far less cases of colon cancer than in the West.... coincidence? No I dont think so... Allopathic medicine is not always the way to go - ppl mention chemotherapy like its a breeze, and dont realize it comes with serious side-effects such as lethargy and allopecia. Curcumin, when tested on mice, has been found to not cause any of the side-effects caused by chemotherapeutic chemicals.

You ppl are ignorant and are victims of propaganda by money making pharmaceuticals.
Ask yourselves why Indian and Chinese people are known to be much healthier than ppl in the west, and why they have less cases for cancer? Could it be their diet? The fact Chinese ppl drink more green tea (which is high in anti-oxidants, known to diminish free radicals in your cells), the fact that Indians have turmeric in their food??
The ppl who thumbs downed me, are ignorant.

PLEASE don't mess around with shonky herbal cures. My brother has sarcomas, he is gravely ill, and wasted time trying alternative medicine before seeing a doctor. Any reputable natural therapist will tell you to consult a cancer specialist. This is a matter of life and death.

No harm exploring, however it is very important to be always in close follow up with your doctor for best care and follow up, and to have a close watch on the condition. May also in consultation with your doctor, explore Chinese and Indian system of herbal medicines as well also Tibetan system at Dharamshala, Himachal Pardesh, India just below Kashmir, India the headquarters of His Holiness Dalai Lama

Since it was removed, you must now follow up with either chemo or radiation to make sure all the tumor cells are gone. Follow closely your oncologists advice, as this is the smart thing to do. If you abandon medical care for herbs then you risk the need to find another husband.

Curcumin has some interesting effects in vitro but is FAR from being shown to be effective in vivo. Looks good in the petri dish but there is no telling what it will do in a living organism.

This is where drug companies start. They find an effect like this and then develop ways to use it in the most effective fashion. Eating it may not help because the body destroys it in the digestive tract. Even if it is in the bloodstream we dont' know if will get inside tumor cells. We don't know what kind of side effects the drug has (and it is a drug!). We also don't know how effective it is even if it does get into the tumor cells.

There is a lot of misconceptions about cancer treatments.

I urge you, for your husband's health and safety, to read the article below.

If you are someone who thinks that Big Pharma is suppressing a cure for cancer to make money off cancer treatments, then there is no convincing you except for you to see your husband die after taking only herbal treatments (and event hen some aren't convinced they were wrong).

The article lists a number of sad cases where people with treatable cancer stopped their therapy at the request of well-meaning folk like yourself and then they died. It is a scary and sad state of affairs. Please don't fall into the trap of thinking that natural=better. (Heck, belladonna kills you and it's perfectly natural!)
