Yes you can actually get high off of nutmeg, but you apparently have to snort or eat a fair amount to feel anything. Some people say that 2tbsp get you quite high, but you won't feel it instantly, it takes time to "build up".
From my understanding, you get high off of nutmeg b/c it's toxic in great concentrated quantities. It's what some prisoners use sometime, when they don't have access to "regular" drugs.
It is also my understanding that this substance can be addictive if consume in great amounts. So user beware!

Yes, it is a psychoactive deliriant, but not a very popular one due to the nausea and/or diarrhea that is typically experienced, and the excessive amount you need to ingest. It takes anywheres from 1-5 hours for effects to set in and the high is usually very harsh, almost comparable to an intense hash buzz.
