Sore throat. Any tips on improving my voice?!

Question: I havea sore throat and possibly a bad cold, but I have to give a public speech in a little over an hour. My voice is terrible now. Any tips on improving my voice, so I don't sound like a chicken? Thanks!

gargle with salt water

warm water with honey and lemon... singers use this all the time

Cough sweets! And rest it up until your speech! Warm water with honey might help too.
I think you should avoid tea and coffee.

Fisherman's Friend... they're in 7-11's, drug stores, etc. They're cough drops and I SWEAR they work.

Try not to talk and drink hot tea with lemon and honey.

Drink warm water...it will losen your vocal cords. Also get a cough drop; it will sooth the throat.

dont talk. if you are hungry but you cant eat eat ice cream. or gargle with salt and warm water

I love to sing and when I had a sore throat i would drink lemon juice. It might seem crazy but AT THE VERY MOMENT it touches your throat the pain goes away. Even though the pain goes away don't strain your throat in your singing.GET WELL

gargle with warm salt water.......and try not to be a pole smoker.

Drink some hot tea with honey in it. It feels so good and It will soothe the throat. Honey is the key! I heard lemon juice also helps. Avoid talking as much as possible before your speech! sorry about your thraot! Blessings!

Probably the only thing that would help that quickly is warm liquids, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Gargling with warm salty water and hydrogen peroxide.

I think chickens sound funny.

hot water with sage and honey and lemon drink it like tea

I found some lozenges in a candy store once that were eucalyptus, and were filled with honey and lemon. They are great for cotton mouth too!!
