My friend has. He used it to give up smoking. The hypnotist asked him what food he really hated, which is bananas, and put the suggestion in his head that ciggarettes tasted of bananas. It worked a treat, he gave up two years ago.
Smoking. He charged so much I thought it would be a waste of money otherwise.

Interestingly when I was a trainee GP my trainer hypnotised me several times to help me give up smoking. I am afraid it didn't work at all at the time, which is consistent with the statistics which show it is no better than placebo. Fortunately that was a long time ago and I have long since given up. I used the most common technique of all, cold turkey!
I'm not a smoker, but I know people, who were former smokers and had a difficult time quitting. They resolved this problem by going to a hypnotist. They told me that it takes a number of sessions, but they succeeded in quitting their smoking addiction.
