For my American friends, Benylin is one of the overseas versions of Sudafed.

If your goal is to 'get drowsy', I suggest you get your hands on one of the older antihistamines. Benylin 'night time' contains just that in the form of diphenhydramine, also known as Benadryl. It usually takes 25milligrams to 50milligrams of Benadryl to knock someone out.

Now, at the link below is a pharmacy site from UK that may help you... ... ... ...

They still do ask around.

It's incase small children take it and operate machinery or drive!!!

(even the childrens mixtures comes with this warning can you believe it lol)

For exactly the same reason as they've just banned Calpol.
Stupid parents, who either couldn't or wouldn't read the instructions, have overdosed their kids and 5 have died in the past 10 years.
nanny state - 5 kids die in ten years due to their own parents stupidity and our wonderful Goivernment steps in says "uncle Gordon knows best and we now won't let any of you have it"..

Then drink night nurse, that will do the trick.

Sainsbury's still sells both versions. The non-drowsy is on the supermarket shelves - the drowsy version is available from the usually-attached pharmacy shop/counter.

Don't take cold medicines as sleep aids!!!
They are very addicting and I know at least two people who have gone through serious depression including having to take Prozac and psychotherapy after getting addicted to sleep aids!
They mess up your sleep cycle totally and cause long term damage to your sleep patterns, which can literally make you psychotic!
Drink warm milk, red wine and exercise before you go to bed. That works way better.

Why would you want to feel drowsy? Speak to your doctor about this.

Medically there is really no such thing as a useful cough mixture anyway. They are divided in to 2 types, expectorants, which make you cough, well you are doing that already! Cough suppressants, these are now generally Pholcodine, they used to be codeine, but this was both addictive and constipating. These suppress the normal cough reflex and may increase the risk of secondary infection. Arguably there are 2 cases where this may be used, in terminal care, especially with lung cancer, and in the prolonged cough of pertussis.
