I am (among other things) hypnotherapist and the tapes you mention will help some people and not others.

The secret of successful hypnosis is to find an induction and a metaphor which is exactly suited to the person's problem and how the person experiences that problem.

It is then obvious that a tape for the general public will only be useful to a very restricted number of people, however cleverly the person who made it thinks he formulated it. It's just for sale and making money. Your best bet is to find a good hypnotherapist, preferably one who practises Ericksonian hypnosis.

Anxiety, self-confidence, weight loss and much more can all be helped with hypnosis, of course.

Self-Hypnosis is the same thing as hypnosis without the hypnotist. It is a relaxation technique. It should help with the first two. However, hypnosis will not make you drop pounds spontaneously. You must WORK off the weight. You can't just sit around and hope that you lose weight after hypnosis.

Self-hypnosis and guided imagery can be very powerful techniques, but you will find some better than others for you. If you can, you should listen to a tape before buying it. A tape that works well for one person may be nothing but an irritation for someone else.

Yes they do work but you need to use them 1-2 times a day for about a month or so. You can't sit there and expect the tapes to do the work for you though, you still need to make an effort to eat right or get "out there" to build your confidence to reinforce what the tapes say.
