You can't do much more than swallow it, or clear your throat and spit it out if you can.

To avoid mucus outside having a cold, the best thing is to eliminate milk and other dairy products from your diet. They are the worst "mucus producers".

My husband always says "spit it out." My sister's husband says the same thing. I just don't feel comfortable spitting it out. Of course it is good to drink plenty of fluids but I'm not sure which would help you to recover more quickly. I had this same symptom this year and after that I had the slightest cold that I've ever had, practically no congestion or nose blowing. Hope you feel better.

Netti pot is used to clear the crap out of your head. so it would make sense for the mucus coming out of your nose. Try inhaling peppermint oil or vicks, it tottaly helps. Also try drinking peppermint tea.

Besides replacing mucus generating dairy products with calcium fortified soy milk the natural antibiotics colloidal silver and garlic also help. Even apple cider vinegar helps a bit.

you should try gargling with warm water mixed with some salt water.. that should help the throat. Mint tea will help the nasal.. also anything menthol i suggest you use
