Bleeding cuts: put a leaf of narrow -leaf-plantain on. (Really works)

Warts: Put the milky juice of dandelion leaves or flower stalks on the wart 2-3 times a day, works within 4 weeks

Stomach ache: Camomile amd peppermint tea, or black tea with "zwieback" (rusk), and nothing else for the day.

Colds and flu: Elderflower tea, steaming your head with camomile, sage and thyme

Sprains and broken bones: Wrap affected area in comfrey leaves, renew twice daily

No.

My German-born mother found a Cockateil in the middle of the street. It was sneezing and nearly dead in pouring-down rain. She put the bird on a pot of heated chamomile tea. (She had the bird sit on a handkerchief held on top of the pot by a rubber band). The vapors healed the bird, overnight. The following morning, the bird was whistling songs and speaking sentences. (We think it escaped from a previous owner's home). It lived for years until it finally died of old age.

My father was German. He used something called Musterol on us kids when we were down with a cold. He spread it on our chest then covered it with a warm damp hand towel. I remember it smelled bad, I liked vicks better ( my mom used that instead, she was irish ). It came in a small jar, I don't know if it was specifically german or not.
