It will not affect your health. However, you will still have stiffness and foot pain. I am a massage therapist and I have a few clients that had bunion surgery and they are still in pain. The only difference is that they can now walk better, but its still painful.

I used to work for a podiatrist years ago, and the best remedy is prevention. In this case wear proper fitting shoes and go barefoot a lot. Other than that, I haven't heard of anything that will fix it or correct it. Sorry!
