What are the challenges and barriers facing traditional and alternative medical !

Question: First and foremost, doctors not being trained in both systems and being told that one or the other is inherently bad are the main barriers. The problem that too many people in either system won't admit is that both have their merits and deficits.

"Alternative Medicine systems" are good for preventative aspects. They are fantastic for preventing everyday "ailments" (high cholesterol, blood pressure problems, arthritis, etc, etc).... but for catastrophic problems (broken bones, severe injuries, etc), they don't help fast enough in most cases.

"Traditional Medicine systems" are good for fixing the catastrophic problems (setting broken bones, surgery for severe enough injuries, etc), but very seldom do drugs and other treatments (aside from diet/exercise) help with preventative issues after the catastrophic problem has been fixed. Unfortunately, most deal with trying to "correct" a problem and because of that often have side effects or don't address preventing the problem again.

When a doctor is trained solely on one and not the other, they often don't know or understand the benefits that the other can have because they've been taught how good their system is. That problem is compounded when they are trained that the other is inherently bad for any given reason (eg. drugs are bad because of side effects... "AltMed" is bad because they don't work like drugs, etc, etc.).

Both traditional and alternative medicines have their places in the medical community... hopefully all doctors of every sort will realize that soon.

I give this medifore about the differences of both schools of medicine
A chiropractor walks by a dress shirt hanging from a hanger and notices that all the buttons are off by one hole - what does he do he unbuttons each button - straighten the shirt and lines up the holes and re buttons the shirt.
A doctor walks by a dress shirt hanging from a hanger and notices that all the buttons are off by one hole - what does he do, he cuts each button off - straighten the shirt and lines up the holes and resews the buttons back on the shirt.

School of training one cut to fix the system the other school of training to fix the problem
