Question: If my random drug screen comes back positive, what will happen? My job says they have EAP to help with drug addiction. Will they offer that or fire me?

most jobs offer assistance and they put you on probation...usually they will tell u how long to go to rehab and what other requirements u must meet...for example....u must complete inpatient rehab and then go for outpatient treatment for 1 year and have no failed drug tests...they are able to test u as many times as they want and when they want....but they cannot fire you...unless, it's not the first time u failed a drug test

EAP is for when you initiate it. Termination is when they find out about drug use that isn't being treated.
depends they could fire you, they could suspend you and order drug counseling. it just depends on your employer.
Find another job - there are plenty of companies that don't spring "purity" tests on their employees who aren't demonstrating any performance problems.
A lot of employers now are treating drug use as a health problem, and giving employees the option to go through treatment at their own expense instead of firing them for not passing a drug test. I think they don't want to be sued, because an addiction could be viewed as a medical problem.
