Are those advertised "colon cleanse" products just a gimmic?!

Question: Can't a person just drink too much fruit juice and flush out their system? Doesn't the body do it naturally?

First of all drinking lots of fruit juice is going to give you diarrhea and is bad for you as the natural acid in the fruit can cause problems (as too much of a good thing!!).
drink water instead as that will help cleanse the system.
the body can do it itself but if it is under stress of has been ill then its going to be sluggish.
try aloe Vera tablets or juice as that is a natural cleanser.
go to somewhere like Holland and Barrett (if you live in the UK) and they'll be able to help you out

you are right but there is a slight difference in washing and scrubbing.

You can't clean out your insides like flushing waste out of some old pipes.
You need to be careful as to what you put in there in the first place, then you don't need to apply gimmicky 'cleaners'.

There are different opinions.
If you are past forty and didn't eat right up to that point. Like a lot of animal fat. and Fast food junk then you might need to be concerned. Your large intestine can build up mass. Like an old water pipe can build up and almost close. They say John Wayne had 50 lbs. of waste in him when he died.
Allot of the cleanse on the market are snake oil. But there are good ones as well. The bible talks of fasting once or twice a year. They can't hurt.
One I would try is ; distilled drinking water allot each day, a glass of good apple cider each day and a little lemon juice in water every three days. Don't eat nothing else for a week.
Gaul and kidney stones can be flushed this way also.

They have worked for me.

they are just a gimic, you are correct in that the body does it naturally, all those drinks are doing is giving you the runs
